about

This is music for driving and singing along to, for late night heart-to-hearts and Sunday morning papers, for growing up and letting go. It’s bearing witness to the death of your old self, and accepting and celebrating the person you have become. It’s a soundtrack to reconsidering your views of society, others, and yourself.

Special Thanks to Nigel Jenkins, Trevor Murphy, Vanessa Cito, Tim Mombourquette, Tara Thorne, Kelsey Hogan, Jessica Watson, all the folks who planted trees with me through the pre-order campaign, and my family. The love of my life, Faith Lamoureux, for her steadfast support in all I do.

I would like to acknowledge that this album was recorded on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. As a settler, I am a visitor on this stolen land that has inspired many of my songs. There is no reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples until they have full autonomy, caring for the land, and make the final decision about the land. “Land Back” is not about physical ownership, but about restoring spiritual and historical responsibility (@decolonizemyself).

This project is funded in part by FACTOR, the Government of Canada and Canada’s private radio broadcasters.

Braden Lam recognizes the support of the Music Nova Scotia Investment Program and The Province of Nova Scotia.
